He must be french too

DeGaulle of Dan Rather.

Mr. Rather, 75, asserts that the network violated his contract by giving him insufficient airtime on “60 Minutes” after forcing him to step down as anchor of the “CBS Evening News” in March 2005. He also contends that the network committed fraud by commissioning a “biased” and incomplete investigation of the flawed Guard broadcast and, in the process, “seriously damaged his reputation.”

CBS brought some of this upon itself with its whitewash of the driving force behind Rather’s reporting — bias and animus against President Bush.

I’ve got a feeling that there will be some settlement. Rather’s credibility is already shot. CBS may have more to lose when it comes to discovery motions and a trial as it is forced to expose its lax journalistic standards in a hostile courtroom atmosphere.

Frankly, I wish they’d both just go away.
